Children usually celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist in the second grade year. Preparation for this sacrament begins in the first grade year. Waiting until the second grade to register will only put your child behind his/her age peer group. Therefore, if a child will not be attending Holy Spirit School, the parents should contact the Religious Education Office in August of the child’s first grade year to register him/her in the Wednesday Night Program. It is expected that all children will have a continuous religious education experience to prepare them for their lives as Catholic Christians.
